Over the last few weeks, I’ve been involved in so many things that I couldn’t give enough time to this blog, my sincere apologies! But a quick update is surely in order. New trimester kicked off at CEU last week and even though we were not at full strength the mood is definitely upbeat. With courses like Finance, Modern Strategy, Macroeconomics, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
Even before we met out Finance professor, we had heard a lot from other classes about Professor Joy Chan and now I know why. She is a very experienced academic professional who is also a practitioner. It will be very interesting to learn from her real life examples on finance and investing.
Another fun subject is Strategy, actually it’s called Key Dimensions of Modern Strategy, well just Strategy is better. Prof. Yusaf Akbar has set at least my expectations very high with his first session. I loved his style of delivering the lecture in a fun and interactive way. To be honest formulating the right strategy using industry jargon is as important as the effectiveness of the strategy itself. Right. Strategy needs to be simple enough to be understood by all. I can’t wait to participate in the next session which is about case analysis.
I saved the best one for the last. CEU’s has recently increased its emphasis on Entrepreneurship and relevant courses. In this trimester we’ve a course on Developing a New Venture which will actually run over multiple trimesters. This course gives us opportunity to create and launch our own venture under the expert guidance of professors and leverage the excellent support infrastructure of CEU Business School. As soon as I saw this course up for grab, I jumped at the opportunity and submitted my business idea for consideration. I look forward to developing a new venture at CEU through this program, follow me on this journey, it’s getting exciting!
